Just as it is not acceptable for anyone to abide by the morals of the predecessors while abandoning their belief, it is also not justified to understand their belief without adhering to their behaviour and morals.
As we all know, various books have been written addressing the topic of the predecessors' beliefs, praise be to Allah, but this book is an attempt to provide the groundwork for the Salaf's approach to behaviour and morals. It is drawn from two books: al-Dhahabi's “Siyar A'lam al-Nubala” and Ibn al-Jawzi’s “Sifat al-Safwa”. The predecessors’ points of view have been taken into account in an objective order, and the book is a decent size and easy to read. The book is divided into twenty-six chapters, which include, for example, the following:
Sincerity and honesty / fear of admiration / asceticism in the world / jurisprudence in religion / obedience to the truth / patience when calamities befall/ predecessors and the trial of Sultans / predecessors and women’s trial / righteousness to mothers/ rights of creation / dealing with mistakes / etiquette with scholars / etiquette of speech and tongue / keeping time… etc.
We beseech Allah Almighty to grant us success in adhering to the morals of the forefathers and to aid in the propagation of honourable morals among believers, and may Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
