As-Sirah an-Nabawiyyah li al-Hafidh al-Mizzi (742H)
السيرة النبوية - الحافظ المزي (ت742هـ)
As-sirah An-Nabawiyyah (Biography of the Prophet) by al-Hafidh Jamal ad-Din Al-Mizzi.
The eminent hafiz Jamal al-Din al-Mizzi (d. 742 AH) composed this work on the Prophet’s life. It is a biography extracted from the introduction to his book “Tahdhib al-Kamaal,” which is one of the most comprehensive books on narrators’ biographies, making it difficult to extract the chapter on the Prophet’s biography from it, so it is good that it is singled out with independent care so that it is a subject studied in mosques, universities, and scientific centres. This book includes, with its brevity, the biography of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, his birth, his names, his upbringing, his children, his pilgrimage, his conquests, his writers, his messengers, his uncles, his aunts, his wives, his servants, his maidservants, his horses, his camels, his weapons, his attributes, his morals, and his miracles.
This book is concluded with a nice section by the scholar Ibn al-Adim al-Halabi (d. 660 AH) on the circumcision of the Prophet, may Allah's blessing and peace be upon him, in which he explains the weakness of the reports that the Prophet was circumcised at birth, or by his grandfather, or by the honourable Angel Jibreel.
