Al-‘Uzla (Seclusion): a book of behavior, wisdom and admonition by Imam Al-Khattabi al-Busti (388H).
This is a leading book in its context; it could be qualified as the first of its kind. It contains some great literature and wisdom, and some moderate sermons based on Quran Verses, Prophet’s traditions and poems that carry the breath of rhetoricians among some eminent poets.
Without exaggeration or prejudice, the author explained the pros and cons of seclusion in the spirit of the jurist, who is bold in telling the truth, and explained the necessity of moderation both in interacting with people or isolating from them.
The book was subjected to a clear scientific method of investigation and correction, and the investigator has enriched it with general indexes that benefit and easily guide researchers to the essential Verse or Hadith.
