Al-Mustadrak 'ala as-Sahihayn - Al-Hakim (405H)
المستدرك على الصحيحين - الإمام الحاكم النيسابوري
Al-Mustadrak ala aṣ-Ṣaḥeeḥayn or Mustadrak Al-Hakim is a five volume Hadith collection written by Hakim al-Naysaburi, in which the Hafidh collected additional authentic Hadiths that existed already in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim that he considered authentic, according to the conditions of either Sahih al-Bukhari or Sahih Muslim or both. He added some of the Hadiths that his independent opinion has led him to consider them authentic, with each type being distinguished from the other. But scholars have stated: He is lenient in the conditions of authenticity, and there are weak Hadiths.
Ibn Hajar said: “Al-Hakim was lenient in his authenticity of Hadiths, because he wrote the first draft of his book and when he started revising it, he died suddenly, or for other reasons.”
This famous collection is presented in an excellent edition in 9 volumes, meticulously verified from 6 manuscripts, just as each Hadith is referenced and authenticated according to the judgments of the other Imams of the Hadith more reliable, to know the exact degree of authenticity. Prefaced by Sheikh Shu'ayb al-Arnaout.
