Al-Muqni' is a famous text among the Hanbalis, written by Ibn Qudamah, may Allah have mercy on him. His student Alaa al-Din al-Mardawi revised it in his book titled 'At-Tanqih.' The first person to combine the two books was Shihab al-Din Abu al-Abbas Ahmad bin Abdullah al-Uskuri (d. 910 AH), a student of Al-Mardawi. He eliminated repetitions, organized some expressions, and merged the two original books in a very engaging manner, making the resulting book a reliable source for assessing the narrations of the school. Unfortunately, he passed away before completing it, may Allah have mercy on him.
The book is being printed for the first time from a unique manuscript discovered by the researcher Dr. Abdul Karim bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Omairini.
