It is a very important book that examines the science of the Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, and it is a reference to anyone who wants to write on this field. In this book, the author has presented the fundamental premises, languages, commands and prohibitions, actions, the abrogating and abrogated, consensus, analogy, equivalence, weighting, Ijtihad, and he has detailed that in great detail.
The book deals with a number of issues that exhausted the efforts of fundamentalists and jurists despite their differing sectarian affiliations and intellectual visions over a period of time, spanning six centuries.
Al-Razi’s contribution to writings on jurisprudence principles is considered relatively late in time, as it came after this field had established itself as an independent science since the end of the fourth century (A.H), despite the fact that its issues began to gel in the minds of jurists as early as the second century (A.H). Because of that lateness, Al-Razi was able to learn about the diverse viewpoints and positions on the fundamentals.
Al-Razi has added the benefits of his thought, in addition to the eloquence of expression, the good arrangement and refinement, the accuracy of the expression, and the smoothness of the style, which drew the interests of the students of knowledge.
The book has received great attention from scholars; some have written commentaries about it and others have abridged it.
