The book “Al-Bayan fi Madhhab Al-Imam Al-Shafi'” is a great reference in Shafi'i jurisprudence, authored by Abu Al-Hussein Yahya Al-Imrani in the 6th century AH. This is an explanation of Al-Muhaddhab by Imam ash-Shirazi (467H). The book explains in detail the opinions and rulings of the Shafi'i school on various jurisprudential issues, and is considered a comprehensive encyclopedia covering various chapters of jurisprudence. It holds great importance in Islamic literature, especially for specialists in Shafi'i jurisprudence.
Al-Imrani attained a high position among the scholars of his time in Yemen. Ibn Samra al-Jadi said: "Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) spread from him throughout the lands, and his knowledge crossed the sea with the Sudanese. Travelers carried his writings in Yemen and the Levant. He is the faqih (jurist), the beauty of Islam, the sun of Sharia, Yahya ibn Abi al-Khayr."
