Imam al-Bayhaqi was one of the scholars who dealt with so many Islamic sciences and his writings areaperfect example of that. He has written many books about the Sunnah, about the Hadiths of Rulings, in ethics and moral values, in the Islamic Faith and in virtues. His book “As-Sunan Al-Kubra’” is more like a comparative jurisprudence, especially with the Hanafi’s scholars. He divided his book into three basic parts: the terms used in Prophetic Tradition (Istilah al-Hadithiyyah); then the terms used in Usool al-Fiqh, and then the ethics of the teacher and student (Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'alim). For every chapter he quotes Hadiths and Athars.
