Scientism, the atheistic ideology of science by Dr Sami 'Amiri
العلموية الأدلجة الإلحادية للعلم في الميزان - د. سامي عامري
Scientism: A Critical Analysis
Scientism, a term derived from the word "science," is an ideology that seeks to interpret everything through the lens of laboratories, observatories, and microscopes. Within the new atheist movement, scientism has been elevated above the truths of reason and the tenets of religion. It stands unchallenged in its claims and uncontested in its authority.
Scientism goes beyond simply proclaiming the honor of scientific knowledge. It is, in essence, a declaration of the imperialism of experimentation. Scientism advocates for science to monopolize the balance of judgment, shaping the contours of all existence with a pen that knows only the dimensions of length, width, and depth, and the measurement of motion.
The book sheds light on the ideological exploitation of natural science and its achievements by scientism, and how all this is harnessed to serve atheism. Scientism claims that science is the companion of irreligion or secularism.
In this regard, the book stands as a pioneering work in Arabic literature. It examines scientism as an ideology, rather than limiting the debate to the traditional discourse in the East and West, which revolves around the relationship between science and religion, often focusing on the conflict between sacred texts and certain scientific discoveries.
