Explanation of Nukhbah al-Fikar of Ibn Hajar by...

Al-Muhaddith al-Fasil is considered the first book written in the science of the fundamentals of Hadith. It was studied by the great past scholars who took interest in Hadith and its sciences and transmitted from it. Ibn Khallad ar-Ramahurmuzi (360H) wrote his book about half a century before Al Hakim Nisaburi’s book “’Ulum al-Hadith” and a century before Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi’s book “ al-Kifaya fi ‘Ilm ar-Riwaya”, from which he derived many of his quotations.
In this book, he collected the methods of narrating and hearing the Hadith, and issued tackled by the scholars of Hadith in this field. In the introduction of the book, he mentioned the virtue of the science of Hadith, its narrators and their high status. The first chapter of the book deals with the merit of the transmitter of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace, then the chapter on the merit of the student of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - and those who adhere to it; then a chapter on the intention to learn the Hadith, and then a chapter on the descriptions and etiquette of the student. He concluded the book on a chapter about the compilers of Hadith narrators in the Muslim world.
