This is a unique research study on tas-hif (textual corruption) in hadith. Tashif refers to errors that occur in wording, such as misspelling or scribal errors. The author thoroughly examined books of Sunnah and filtered through their hadiths, extracting 287 words that scholars have identified as containing tashif.
The book begins with a section containing 10 chapters presenting a foundational study of the issue of tashif. The practical section that follows forms the core of the book: it lists all the hadiths in which scholars found tashif. For each hadith, the author presents its chain of narration starting from the narrator suspected of causing the tashif, highlighting the location of the error in red. He then presents the hadith and begins studying its tashif by citing scholars' opinions, who among them corrected it, and other related matters.
After this extensive research, the author reached valuable conclusions about the impact of tashif on hadith authenticity and disagreements between legal schools. He concluded his book with tables summarizing all types of tashif in hadith, making it easier for future researchers to build upon his work.
