Al-Maqaamah (plural form: Al-Maqaamaat) is a novel in rhymed prose that is quoted in a specific place and includes many of the pearls of the Arabic language, unique masterpiece of literature, wisdom, proverbs and rare poems, which indicate the capacity of knowledge and the high status of the public storyteller, in rhymed prose. This book contains fifty literary Maqaamaat by one of the most famous people of this art: Abu Mohammed Al-Qasim Ibn Ali Ibn Mohammed Ibn Othman Al-Hariri, of Basra, Iraq. Al-Hariri was a scholar of Arabic language and literature and is primarily known for the refined style and wit of his collection of tales, Al-Maqaamaat.
This edition has been adorned with a detailed explanation of the Maqaamaat, combining all kinds of benefits and knowledge.
Dar Al-Minhaj Publications has adopted the Boulaq Edition (الطبعة البولاقية), putting its artistic and printing touches on it, in a very large size (20x28cm) for the sake of restoring rare antique books.
The book has been meticulously restored letter by letter, so the eye can enjoy looking at it and is easy to read. The Scientific Committee of Dar Al-Minhaj has also reviewed the Maqaamaat, in order to correct it and clear some obvious errors.
