Qala-id al-'Iqyan fi Ikhtisar Aqidat Ibn Ḥamdan - Ibn Balban al-Ba'li

An amazing, wonderful and very valuable abridged book. The author wrote this book to establish the real Aqeedah of the Hanbali scholars. Imam Ibn Balbān ad-Dimashqi al-Hanbali summarised this book from “Nihayat al-Mubtadi'in fi Usul ad-din” by Imam Ibn Ḥamdān al-Ḥarrānī al-Ḥanbalī (died 695 AH).

In this book, he summarized the Hanbali Sunni doctrine, refine it with evidence and proof and remove any kind of distortion. He wrote his book specifically according to the doctrine of the honourable Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal, may Allah be pleased with him.

This book had become widely known to the extent that it became the foundation and an authority of the Hanbali doctrines. This book could be a textbook for teaching students, because of its simplicity, ease of expression, clarity of its topics and the sincerity of its author. The author revealed in this book the falsity attributed to the Hanbali School: Tashbih (i.e. affirming similarity to Allah), Tajsim (Anthropomorphism) and Jiha (direction). The book is divided into five sections, a conclusion and a supplement as an advice to the Muslims.

The Muhaqqiq also wrote an explanation to the book (it is published after the main text) ; he supported it with statements from the Hanbalis’ books.
