Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari by Shaykh Sa'd ash-Shathry
مختصر صحيح البخاري للشيخ سعد بن ناصر الشثري
This is a contemporary summary of Sahih al-Bukhari, selected by Sheikh Sa'd al-Shathry, who has removed chains of narrations, repetitions, Athars of Tabi'ins and added annotations on some words and discussed some different versions of the Hadith.
Sheikh Sa’d Ibn Nasser Al-Shatri, may Allah have mercy upon him, has mentioned that he wanted to complement the efforts of the previous scholars in abbreviating “As-Sahih”, and his approach in doing so is as follows:
1- Deleting the chain of narrators and the narrations of the Followers (Tābiʻūn), because they cannot be invoked, and the Muʻallaqāt, because they are not following the conditions set by Imam al-Bukhari in the Sahih.
2- Collecting parts of the Hadiths in the first place where the Hadith is mentioned.
3- He referred to the conflicting narratives contained in the footnotes.
4- He mentioned all the tabulation of al-Bukhari on the Hadith in all its areas and put it in the margin.
5- He explained some unusual words.
A very nice book and an excellent introduction to the famous Sahih al-Bukhari.
